Commissioning of 57 EHMCs
On the Solemnity of Corpus Christi, June 2, 2024, a significant event took place as 57 Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion (EMHC) from various Basic Ecclesial Communities were commissioned. The ceremony occurred during the first Mass at 5:30 a.m. and was presided over by the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Jesus Samaniego.
In his Homily, Rev. Fr. Samaniego highlighted the need for additional support in distributing the Holy Eucharist due to the increasing number of communicants. This necessity led to the establishment and commissioning of these dedicated ministers, who will assist priests in this vital aspect of the liturgy. As distributors of the Body of Christ, the newly commissioned Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion (EMHC) were reminded that their role requires a deep sense of reverence, humility, and a strong personal faith, as they bring the sacred Host to parishioners, ensuring that the sacrament is received with the utmost respect and devotion.
