Blessing and Inauguration of the Padre Pio Formation House and Spirituality Center

The long-awaited Padre Pio Formation House and Spirituality Center was officially blessed and inaugurated on June 16, 2024, in Purok Bi-ao, Brgy. Guianga, Tugbok District. This momentous occasion marked the culmination of a decade-long journey, a testament to the belief that God’s timing is indeed perfect.

The architectural brilliance behind the formation house and spirituality center is credited to Sr. Ma. Elizabeth Mapa, AJC, who designed the center alongside her parents, both accomplished architects. During her heartfelt words of gratitude, Mother General Mo. Ma. Saveria Palmisano from Italy was visibly moved, her voice breaking as she expressed deep appreciation for everyone who contributed their talents, time, and treasure to bring this vision to life.

The blessing ceremony was led by the Auxiliary Bishop of Davao, Most Rev. George B. Rimando, D.D., who, despite still recovering, played a crucial role in the event. He was joined by Rev. Fr. Jasper Espanola, OFMCap, Rev. Amiel Arado and Rev. Fr. Russell Bantiles. Due to his on-going recovery, Bishop Rimando was unable to preside over the Holy Mass. Instead, Fr. Russell Bantiles, the parish priest of St. John Paul II Parish, graciously stepped in to celebrate the Mass and bless the altar, lectern, and liturgical vessels. In his homily, Fr. Bantiles expressed his surprise and honor at being entrusted with such a significant role, noting that it is rare for a bishop to delegate such functions to a priest.

The event was made even more special by the live coverage of the Holy Mass, which was made possible thanks to the generous support of various mission partners, including AGRISIDE AGRIVET SUPPLIES, Mt. Carmel Dental Clinic, NORTH STAR TRADING, Mrs. Salvacion Divinagracia, Mr. Alberto Abenoja, KIMZO, St. Anne Values School of Toril, Mrs. Bernardita Origenes, Mr. Jann Earl Corpuz, the Banga Family, Mrs. Ollien Banga, Ms. Tessie Marapan, Ms. Mariel Niño, Mr. & Mrs. Godofredo Suarez Jr., C.T.S. CATERING SERVICES, Gayly Beauty, Dr. Ruby Ann Ruiz-Limpot, Remotigue Enterprise, Mr. & Mrs. Anthony Remotigue Jr., Ms. Claire Remotigue, Ms. Mary Cris Ipan, Ms. Dolly Joy Ronquillo, Bro. Glien Norbe, and HCDC Social Work.

This day of blessing and celebration will be remembered not only for the dedication of the new formation house and spirituality center but also for the overwhelming sense of community and shared purpose that made it all possible. The Padre Pio Formation House and Spirituality Center stands as a beacon of faith and commitment, ready to serve its mission and nurture the spiritual growth of all who seek its guidance.
