Harmony and Heritage
The Saint Joseph the Worker Parish started its nine-day programs in line with its preparation for the 60th celebration of the establishment of the parish last April 22, 2024 at 7:30 p.m. The program, entitled Halad Pasundayag kang San Jose, kicked off featuring the talents of the 32 seminarians from the St. Francis Xavier Regional Major Seminary, in Catalunan Grande, Davao City.
The program was divided into three parts, namely: the opening prayer, the program proper, and the closing ceremony. It was a progressive generational music-filled night, executing a smooth transition from the beginning until the end.
On the other side, almost 200 parishioners of St. Joseph attended the Halad Pasundayag kang San Jose. These were composed mostly of members of the Parish Youth Apostolate, Knights of the Altar, and other GKK Servant Leaders from the eight zones of the parish. It was also attended by the parish staff, the parish pastoral team, and the parish fiesta committee.
According to Mr. Jess Saldana, it was his first time to witness the seminarians of the Regional Major Seminary perform and sing at a mini concert. It was an unexpected and surreal experience for him. Mr. Jim Cordova of the Family and Life Apostolate shared the same sentiments and said that it was breath-taking when he first heard the group of seminarians sing the opening prayer.
Also present during the evening were Rev. Fr. Leonardo Dublan Jr. and Rev. Fr. Evan Esmade. The seminarians were also accompanied by Rev. Fr. William Cajes, procurator of REMASE. The program also witnessed the official handover of the donation of the parish to REMASE, which came from the fruits of the spirituality of the stewardship of the parish. The closing prayer was led by the seminarians, and the final blessing was given by Fr. Dublan, Jr. The event ended at 9:00 p.m.
