A Joyous Milestone
April 18, 2024, marked a momentous occasion for the parishioners of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Parish as they gathered to celebrate two significant events: the 30th Sacerdotal Anniversary of their beloved Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Jesus Samaniego, and the long-awaited dedication of their cherished Church. Reflecting on the journey that led to this day, one cannot help but recall the humble beginnings of the church’s construction back in 2019. Under the guidance of Fr. Samaniego, the ground-breaking ceremony commenced, symbolizing the inception of a sacred space that would soon become a cornerstone of the community.
The Archbishop of Davao, Most Reverend Romulo Valles, D.D. graced the celebration, delivering a heartfelt homily that underscored the collective effort and generosity of the parishioners in bringing the vision of the church to fruition.
Concelebrating the Holy Eucharist were Most Rev. Abel Apigo, D.D. Bishop of Mati, Most Rev. George Rimando, Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Davao, Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Gonzaga, Rev. Fr. Leonardo Dublan, Jr., Rev. Fr. Rene Retardo, Rev. Fr. Dionision Tabiliran, Rev. Fr. Roy Mejias, Rev. Fr. Elneri Meňez, Rev. Fr. Boy Roland Ong, Rev. Fr. Dexter Veloso, Rev. Fr. Allan Fiel, Rev. Fr. Ritsche Gamaya and Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Jesus Samaniego. The first parish priest, Rev. Msgr. Martiniano Gorgonio also showed his support through his attendance. Their presence was a testament to the unity and solidarity among the clergy in supporting the growth of faith within the parish. As the liturgy unfolded, Fr. Samaniego expressed his gratitude to all who contributed tirelessly to the construction of the church, emphasizing the unwavering support and dedication of the parishioners. Following the solemn ceremonies, a spirit of camaraderie filled the air as a fellowship meal brought together the GKK servant leaders and all the visitors who had gathered to share in the joy of this momentous occasion. Amidst laughter and conversations, bonds were strengthened, and memories were shared, reaffirming the sense of community that defines Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Parish.
As the day drew to a close, hearts overflowed with gratitude for the blessings bestowed upon the parish. The dedication of the church symbolized not only the physical culmination of years of hard work but also the spiritual journey of a community united in faith and love. Looking ahead, the parishioners of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Parish stand ready to continue their mission of spreading the message of hope and compassion to all who enter through the doors of their newly dedicated church.
