Pillar of a Family

Bringing total development with God’s love, enriching and strengthening the relationship between husband and wife as the pillar of a family, and assisting in building up Christian homes encompasses the entire mission of the Family and Life Apostolate (FLA) and Pangulo sa Kristohanong Banay (PSKB) of the St. Mary of the Perpetual Rosary Parish (SMPRP), Buhangin, Davao City.

Headed by our FLA/PSKB Coordinator Bro. Maurillo & Sis. Delia Frias, we successfully and gratefully conducted the Two (2) day Marriage Enrichment Seminar (MES) Batch 32 last March 09-10, 2024, Saturday and Sunday at CWL Building inside the SMPRP compound wherein the Holy Spirit empowered us to carry-out this mission.

The Seven (7) Catholic Married Couples who responded to God’s call reaffirmed their marriage vow and attended this two (2) day journey of introspection and of seeing the love of Christ, head of the Church. This is particularly timely on the occasion of celebrating the 75th Diamond Jubilee of the Archdiocese of Davao with its theme “Journeying Together as a Synodal Church Living out the Spirituality of Stewardship in our Basic Ecclesial Communities (BEC) / Gagmay’ng Kristohanong Katilingban (GKKs).”

The renewed couples were very grateful of many surprises and life’s realizations that the facilitators shared with them, including the very essence of God’s purpose having a spiritual and healthy home where love, faith and hope are experienced flowing to their family, to the community and to the Church towards the Kingdom of the God, our ultimate destination.

Most of their sharing focused on how they were inspired and motivated to continue the mission by sharing to other families on what they had learnt from it. It owes a lot of thanksgiving to our spiritual directors Rev. Fr. Dionisio Tabiliran and Rev. Fr. Boy Roland Ong for their support especially during confession, officiating the renewal of vows.Fr. Diony was also one of our facilitators for the Theology of Marriage. He also graced the reception.
