Fostering collaborations for a brighter future
A momentous event happened last February 28, 2024, at the Davao Light and Power Co. for the Memorandum of Agreement contract signing between the Aboitiz Foundation, Davao Verbum Dei Media Foundation, Inc., Davao Historical Society, and Southern Philippines Medical Center.
The event was attended by Mr. Fermin Edillon- Head of Reputation Enhancement of Davao Light, Ginggay Hontiveros-Malvar- Aboitiz Foundation President, Dr. Ricardo B. Audan- Medical Center Chief II of Southern Philippines Medical Center, Pilar C. Braga- Chairperson of Davao Historical Society Inc., Rodger S. Velasco-President and COO of Davao Light, and Most Rev. Romulo G. Valles, D.D. Chairman of the Davao Verbum Dei Media Foundation, Inc.
“We from the Aboitiz Foundation, are reminded of the power of collaboration and collective action to shape a better tomorrow. Under the One New Aboitiz’ banner of ChangeTodayShapeTheFuture, we come together to witness the ceremonial signing of three Memoranda of Agreement that represent a shared commitment to uplifting our society, nurturing our cultural heritage, and enhancing the quality of healthcare services in our region”, Malvar emphasized during her message of partnership.
This MOA signing allows the Aboitiz Company to support different activities from the said organizations such as a share of funding the Davao Verbum Dei Media Foundation to continue its noble mission of carrying the teachings of the Catholic Church and also support the Davao Historical Society in safeguarding our traditions, landmarks, and stories for the future generations. Additionally, they would fund Php 2M for the SPMC wellness park which would be a conducive environment for healing and well-being of patients and healthcare professionals.
Partnerships are vital in the coming together and betterment of the community. It allows each one to see the goodness of collaboration towards a better future. “Together, let us forge ahead with determination and compassion as we work towards a brighter, healthier, and more culturally vibrant future for our beloved community.
