13th LCCP Convention Held
The biggest gathering in the history of Lectors, Commentators, Choir members, and Psalmists or LCCP convened on March 2, 2024 was held at the REMASE gym. The reason behind the big number of attendance of almost 3000 delegates was due to the fact that the parish ministers of the Word and choir members were restricted to gather for four years due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The last Convention was in 2019 with a thousand and five hundred in attendance.
This year, three resource speakers were invited. One as the plenary speaker in the person of Mr. Dennis Mabayao. His Talk was done in the morning which was about his expertise on pastoral care being the program coordinator of Sagup Kinabuhi Program, a project under the care of Archdiocesan Social Action Center. The afternoon activity was a break-out parallel workshop of the lectors and music ministry. The resource person for the LecCom was Fr. Jessel Gerard “JBoy” Gonzales, SJ while the music ministry had Rev. Amiel Arado whose sharing was heard by the choir members in the REMASE chapel.
After the morning plenary session on pastoral care, Msgr. Paul Cuison presided over the Eucharistic celebration with seven concelebrants: Msgr. Ed Rodrigiez, Fr. Leonardo “Bong” Dublan Jr., Fr. Johnny Autida, Fr. Severino “Ben” Capulong, Fr. Leif Simbajon, Fr. Micheal Ondras, Jr., and Fr. Ranebe Magallanes. The participants went home bringing the new knowledge and insights shared to them by the three resource speakers and by the good monsignor from his homily.
The 13th LCCP convention was made possible with the guidance of the new Archdiocesan Liturgy Center (ALC) Director, Fr. Michael Ondras, Jr. His active participation in all of the meetings especially during the planning stage made the 2024 Convention a resounding success.
