Ruby Celebration
The GKK Sr. Sto. Niño, Pag-Asa Fish Vendors under the St. Jude Shrine Parish hosted a significant event, marking the Ruby Year celebration for the GKK’s 40th Anniversary. The Holy Mass, presided over by Rev. Fr. Roy Mejias, served as a special moment for the entire community.
Pangulo sa Katilingban (PSK) Rose Arriba, along with PSA, PSL, PSB, and PSP, played a crucial role in leading the activities during the 9-day novena, fostering unity and collaboration among community members. The participation of deacon, Rev. Julius Lugay from the Archdiocese of Davao, representing their GKK, added a profound connection to a broader spiritual community.
Despite initial weather challenges, the vibrant celebration of the 40th Fiesta in Sr. Sto. Niño, Pag-asa, prevailed. The rain did not deter the activities, and the weather cleared up for the fiesta mass, imparting a special touch to the event.
The unexpected reunion with childhood friends during the celebration added an extra layer of memorability, creating a sense of connection and nostalgia. The 4 o’clock dawn procession and morning games for children showcased the community’s commitment to both the spiritual and joyful aspects of the celebration.
The distribution of games to the children, aligned with biblical teachings emphasizing a childlike spirit, reflects a deep understanding of community values. The blessings bestowed upon those who care for children contribute to the enrichment of our community.
The concluding shouts of “Viva Senyor! Viva! Pit Senyor!” further underscored the festive and jubilant atmosphere of the occasion, making it a truly enriching and joyous celebration for the Sr. Sto. Niño GKK community in Pag-asa.
These celebrations have been filled with gratitude, community spirit, and the joy of coming together to celebrate faith and shared history. (Jeralyn Palero)
