Hudyaka sa Parokya ni San Jose
Feast of the Sto. Niño Celebration
January 21, 2024, St. Joseph the Worker Parish, Sasa, Davao City, celebrated the 2nd Anniversary of the HUDYAKA (Himayaon Ug Daygon ang Yanong Anak sa Kahitas-ang Amahan) in honor of Sr. Sto. Nino.
In St. Joseph the Worker Parish, the celebration of the feast of Sr. Sto. Nino started with a Fluvial Procession from km. 11 to Garden-by-the Bay Restaurant led by Fr. Leonardo “Bong” Dublan Jr. together with the GKK Servant Leaders of various GKKs and parishioners of St. Joseph the Worker Parish.
The Queens of HUDYAKA through a magnificent dance together with the Sinulog Street Dancers welcomed the arrival of Sr. Sto. Nino at the Garden-by-the Bay.
Upon arrival from the Fluvial Procession, the procession of Sr. Sto. Niño continued towards St. Joseph Parish with GKKs and devotees happily dancing on the street following the HUDYAKA Queens and Sinulog Street Dancers.
A Holy Mass at 9:00 am for the Solemnity of Sr. Sto. Niño presided by Fr. Leonardo “Bong” Dublan, Jr. together with Fr. Evan Esmade and Rev. Ranieboy Pamplona was held. Fr. Bong mentioned in his homily that the reason why Sto. Niño is celebrated was to glorify and praise the Son of the Most High Father and it also reminds us that we are all children of God.
After the mass, there was a blessing of Sto. Niño statues and images. Pit Senyor! (Emy Gamorot)
