Abante ANC!

Nine years of loving support from benefactors and sponsors have brought the Archdiocesan Nourishment Center to its 9th year. Last December 15, 2023 was the Annual Fellowship Dinner held at the Mergrande Ocean Resort which was attended by people who have constantly been supporting the cause of ANC. This annual gathering has helped build more feeding centers as ANC is now on its 6th center.

ANC’s feeding, medical and dental care, Christian formation and educational scholarship has indeed showed charity especially to those children in need.

In his welcome speech, incumbent Corporate Secretary, Mr. Eduardo Pacana said, “your presence here tonight serves as a reminder to all of us, of just how important the work of ANC is and that is to actively improve the quality of life for the kids of ANC.” Pacana even mentioned that there are still those who silently support the cause. He is grateful also to them.

A heart-warming audio video presentation was played during the program wherein kids were interviewed about their pet peeves and their dreams. It was evident that they did not like being under the scorching sun to earn their living. Although this was their current truth, they were still positive and excited about their future and they had dreams they wanted to fulfill.

ANC sees their dreams; ANC hears their thoughts and ANC will do something to help them achieve their utmost potential.

ANC Director, Rev. Msgr. Paul Cuison shared his thoughts that night which reminded those who were present that what they do is good, what they do help these children. Msgr. Paul even emphasized, “food is not the only thing these kids need, they also need our love and care, our attention and affirmation.”

While it was obvious that people were there to dine and celebrate 9 wonderful years of ANC’s mission, they were also entertained by various talents from in and out of the church. All the performances were no doubt awe-inspiring but the one that caught their attention was the showcase of Philippine folk dances by the ANC Kids. Around 120 kids wore their best baro’t-saya and Philippine costumes as they danced with all smiles.

With the help of the workers in the vineyard from the sisters of Living the Gospel Community, and other support from the lay, ANC indeed has brought the pastoral care that these children never dreamed of having.

Kudos ANC!
