“Healing with Heart: Christ the King Specialists Hospital’s Commitment to Service”
The liturgical calendar of the Church culminates with the celebration of Christ the King—a poignant reminder of Jesus Christ’s sovereignty, instituted by Pope Pius XI in 1925. This feast underscores our allegiance to Christ through acts of selfless love and solidarity with the less fortunate. In alignment with this devotion, the Diocese of Tagum proudly introduces Christ the King Specialists Hospital, officially launched on October 5, 2023, in direct response to the urgent needs of the underserved.
History
Founded in 1963 as Christ the King Hospital, this marked the Maryknoll Society’s inaugural non-parochial endeavor in the Diocese of Tagum under the leadership of Bishop Joseph W. Regan, MM, DD. Operating for 28 years as Bishop Joseph W. Regan Memorial Hospital, a pivotal moment occurred on June 30, 2022. The contract with the group of doctors managing the hospital concluded, leading the diocese to embark on significant renovations starting July 1, 2022. The hospital reverted to its original name, reflecting its unwavering dedication to Christ the King.
