Miraculous Journey with St. Therese
Story of Mae Ann Evangelista Ang
October 1, 2023, marked the Memorial of St. Therese of the Child Jesus, virgin and doctor of the church. For many years, the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish observed the feast of St. Therese. There are testimonies the parishioners have been hearing, and on the same day at 11:00 AM mass, Sis Mae Ann Evangelista Ang shared her journey with St. Therese before the assembly. An Astounding Story of Miracle.
I can’t tell you how often St. Therese of the Child Jesus has interceded for me. I first got to know St. Therese through my father, who also has a deep devotion to our beloved little flower. She has continued to influence my life ever since.
I noticed a lump in my breasts in 2007, about a year after beginning employment at a bank. My routine breast self-examination led me to the answer. I informed my parents of the situation and asked an OB-Oncologist and another Oncologist for their opinions, had a mammogram, and underwent other medical procedures. Sadly, they recommended removing the lump to perform biopsy to determine whether it’s benign or cancerous. My family and I decided not to act despite the recommendations of medical professionals.
Thoughts terrify me greatly. Because of my condition and the fact that I knew individuals who had cancer, I cry every night whenever I remember. Cancer is a horrible sickness. I don’t want to undergo any procedure, including surgery, chemotherapy, or mastectomy.
I began praying to St. Therese daily. I lost concentration at work and was afraid, but I still prayed, went to church everyday, and started receiving communion everyday. Additionally, I maintained a healthy diet, and devoted my time to prayer.
On Divine Mercy Sunday, April 15, 2007, a procession started from Sta. Ana Shrine Parish to St. Jude church. With me was my mother, father, and other family members. Also, with my Oasis of Love Charismatic Community, brothers and sisters. My boyfriend Dexter, who was then living in Cebu, arrived unexpectedly with a bouquet of roses. It startled me as it was not my boyfriend’s attitude to give flowers without reason. I then realized that it was the sign that my prayer petition was answered through the intercession of St. Therese. Roses are St. Therese’s signature. She does this to let you know that she has heard you and that God is responding.
That evening, I, too, did a self-examination, and the miracle of miracles, my lumps vanished. When I told my parents, we all sobbed and praised God for hearing our prayers. We also thanked St. Therese for her intercession. Immediately, I went to the doctor for a check-up, and their findings are a testament that God is truly present. There is no need to remove the lump for biopsy or regular check-up for this concern.
Until Dexter and I got married, I continued to pray while having St. Therese by my side and asking for her intercession. With Julianna, 9, Daniel, 8, and Dirk Benedict, 4, we are now blessed with three lovely children whom I can pass on this extraordinary devotion. It is a blessing that I could nurse all my children exclusively, as it gave them all the nutrition they required. It also provided them with immunity from illness, infection, and disease.
Our journey of devotion to St. Therese of the Child Jesus continued. During the Relic visit of St. Therese in the country, I brought my two kids at the Shrine of St.Therese at Pasay last May 31, 2018 and on March 22, 2023, I brought my 3 kids to San Pedro Cathedral to venerate to the relic of our dear Little Flower.
With this, I am going to leave a Beautiful Quote of St.Therese:
“Miss no single opportunity of making some small sacrifice, here by a smiling look, thereby a kindly word; always doing the smallest right and doing it all for love.” and “Love can accomplish all things. Things that are most impossible become easy where love is at work.”
Faith can bring about healing. Sis Mae Ann serves as an example of how ardent prayer can benefit not only ourselves but also other people. Although her journey was never simple, she saved a soul by giving up her time for prayer and teaching her children about the importance of faith. St. Therese can help you place your entire family in God’s hands. The fact that her father introduced religion to the family is a striking illustration of the idea that everything begins in the home, a lesson that Sis Mae Ann hopes to impart to those who require heavenly assistance as a support system for all spiritual undertakings through her incredible journey with St. Therese.
