Awakening the Vocation

Several representatives from different seminaries and congregations came to Assumption College of Davao to conduct a Vocation Symposium.

Last September 19 and 26, Junior and Senior High School and College Students gathered once more for this annual celebration of the Month of Vocation held at ACD gymnasium. It was attended by almost 1,700 students so that they may become aware of the sacrament of commitment at a young age. The school adopts the theme in the Archdiocese of Davao to intensify its deepest content, “Vocation: Grace and Mission.”

To make the event more effective, they organized a “talk show” that speaks about different vocations. They invited Ms. Lady Vanessa B. Cabang as their speaker to represent the Single Blessedness, Mrs. Maricel B. Banluta for Married Life, Sr. Sheila Manalo, SM and Sr. Precy Manzano, TDM for the Religious life.

The president of the Vocation Promoters in the Archdiocese of Davao, Rev. Fr. Ronald Arcillas, DCD gave the closing remarks. He encouraged the students to discover their vocation as they were given the opportunity to reflect on their lifetime commitment.

That Symposium in the Assumption College of Davao truly awakens the vocation of each student as the school is looking forward to producing not only holy priests and nuns but also committed Christians nourished by the love of God. (Harold Jhon A. Gimeno)
