Women as Front Liners of the Culture of Life

It is not by human will that one is born a male or a female. It is solely by the Holy Will of GOD that each person is created according to HIS image.

So it is by GOD’s Hand that each woman is formed. Her womb is GOD-made, GOD-given. And by GOD’s miraculous Will, a woman’s womb is the only receptacle of GOD’s life and likeness.

Thus formed, whether a woman has become a biological mother or not, she has in her a “maternal mission (FR. KARL STEHLIN, Warsaw, June 27, Militia Immaculatae – MI* No. 33 July -September 2023),” – to nurture and to care, to touch and to comfort another, to value life.

In the busyness of the modern world, however, people overlook the other part of the maternal mission, that is, a woman’s calling includes feeding the soul, not just the body, of those in her care. Care for life beyond the physical – because that soul is precious to GOD.

Temporarily in our care, each child who only grows to worldly stature of excellence, fame, and riches, is, sadly, spiritually malnourished. The world and its wiles will be a deadly place for a spiritually uninformed child.

Just as a mother takes time to prepare for a child’s first day of school, high school prom, graduation, wedding – a stage at a time – a mother’s highest purpose is to teach her child to know, honor, love, and serve CREATOR FATHER, REDEEMER SON, SANCTIFIER HOLY SPIRIT. Only in this way can the child experience the fullness of life. A life without knowledge of GOD is just a half life.

Although both parents are duty bound to raise GODly children, it falls more on the shoulders of mothers – because she was privileged to bear in her womb GOD’s life.

It is a daunting challenge. True. That’s why JESUS gave us HIS own Mother, our forever Mama Mary. As She kept JESUS safe in Her womb, She will also keep us safe in Her spiritual womb.

A simple consecration to the Sacred Heart of JESUS and to the Immaculate Heart of Mary will open us to graces we cannot earn by ourselves. She will help form us according to GOD’s Heart.

A heart for life in GOD.

JESUS would not deny Mother Mary favors, She, in turn, distributes those favors according to our need. As St. Louis-Marie Grignion de Montfort wrote “The HOLY GHOST has not formed JESUS CHRIST except by Her; neither does HE form the members of our LORD’s Mystical Body except by Her; and through Her alone does HE dispense HIS favors and HIS gifts (MI*).”

A heartfelt Hail Mary will do us well right now.
