The Challenge of Mission Remains

GKK Queen of Peace, Nova Tierra Village celebrated its 33 years on May 13, 2023.

The day started with a Eucharistic celebration presided by Rev. Fr. Leonardo “Bong” Dublan, Jr. Parish Priest of St. Joseph the Worker Parish, where GKK Queen of Peace belongs.

Fr. Bong in his homily emphasized the continued service of the people in the community despite the struggles and he said, “bisan sa mga ups and downs, bisan sa mga twists and turns sa atong katilingban, kita nagpabilin, kita nagmalahutayon, kita bisan ug nag-aginod naa gihapon ang atong pagpadayon…dili mani papaspasay, palahutayay mani.” Such struggles include human weaknesses and conflicts in the propagation of the message of God in the world. “Dili gyud diay nato malilong, dili nato mabasta-basta, dili nato mapadaplin ang lihok sa Espiritu Santo, naa man gyud tay mga tawhanon nga kinaiya…kini usahay magdala kanato halayo sa misyon.” Indeed one can never deny the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

The challenge of the mission remains. We must increase our faith to accomplish the mission for the years to come.

A clear representation of this continued mission is the spirit of service showed by the different groups and committees. The community is ever grateful for: Tigpasayon sa Pundok Banay (TPBs), Pundok Banay (PBs), participants of the Sinodo, attendees of the Kolokabildo (General Assembly), the nightly novena attendees and food donors, mass sponsors, Pangulo sa Liturhiya (PSL), Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, lectors, commentators, projector operators, cantors and musician, GKK Servant Leaders (GSLs), and all the people who helped the feast celebration a fruitful and a successful one. Viva Maria! (Kris Carmelle Quimno)
