Mothers’ Day
Motherhood. Not a simple 10-letter word to some, motherhood means bearing the baby in her womb, unholy wake ups for feeding and diaper change, pedia clinic trips, tickles and giggles, and tearful worries in between.
For some, motherhood means a mistake, an unwelcome addition, an unwanted burden, a life that should be ended.
Christian believers, however, take motherhood as a vocation. As such, we can only look at motherhood through the Heart of Mama Mary.
For all mothers, with Mama Mary, we pray to grow a heart that is:
GRATEFUL (My soul magnifies The LORD .. my spirit rejoices) – to sing glory to GOD for HIS goodness;
HUMBLE (HE has regarded my lowliness) – aware of the distinct privilege to have GOD’s life within one’s finite womb;
GOD-centered (I am the handmaid of LORD, let it be done unto me, according to YOUR Word) – accepting that nothing the world offers can ever equal the perfect will of GOD;
PEACEFUL (pondered them in her heart) – trustful that GOD is in control;
STEADFAST (a sword will pierce your own soul too) – brave enough to journey with one’s child to share the pain.
To grow a heart that INTERCEDES (Woman, behold your son) – knowing as her children, that the shortest prayer to The Sacred Heart of JESUS is through her immaculate heart.
In whatever color or creed, all mothers are called to cooperate and participate with GOD’s holy will for the salvation of her child’s, not just body, but both body and soul.
This being the MONTH OF MARY, let’s all together enclose everyone within The Rosary for all these intentions.
Mothers’ day blessings to all!
To GOD The FATHER, SON, and HOLY SPIRIT be all glory forever!
