Life Lived in Gratitude

As an associate of the Missionary Sisters of the Immaculate Conception, Ms. Lorna Jadraque has learned to live her life in gratitude. When asked how to spot an AsMIC or an associate of the MIC sisters, she said it was easy because most of them are happy, “malipayon”; in spite of and despite life’s circumstances.

The members of AsMIC live as Mary lived, always filled with gratitude and blessing that the Lord was conceived in her womb. In her everyday life, Ms. Jadraque tries to live this kind of life and treats challenges and sad days equally with the happy days.

When asked whether she has felt that the Holy Mother is actively playing a role in her life, she said yes. She’d like to think that as she asks the Blessed Mother’s intercession in small and big hurdles, the latter hears her prayers.

A simple but memorable prayer that was granted was when she got very sick with nobody to attend to her, she prayed to Mother Mary and saw a red cloak envelope her and she was healed instantly.

The associates of the Missionary Sisters of the Immaculate Conception meet every third Saturday of the month and conduct Bible and experiences sharing with the guidance of an MIC sister. Ms. Jadraque invites people to join their group as it is open to all. When we live in gratitude, we have no time to complain.
