Batch ’86 of SFY-REMASE reunites in Surallah
“Salamat kaayo sa Dios sa gasa sa mahigugmaong presensya sa atong reunion uban sa akong pag-ampo ang inyong mga mahal sa kinabuhi, salamat mga igsoon,” as warmly expressed by Father Sander Niez, diocesan clergy of Digos.
From the nesting formation of the Regional Major Seminary of Mindanao (REMASE), 17 ex-seminarians of Spirituality Formation Batch 86 reunited in Surallah, South Cotabato in the Diocese of Marbel, last 12-13 May 2023, hosted by Marbelians Atty. Ramie Armada, South Cotabato Fiscal Anthony Barluado, Sir Danilo Abanil, and Tantangan Vice Mayor Cesar Dasilao.
Mindanao ex-seminarians were welcomed with luncheon tour at the Punta Isla Resort in Lake Sebu, Surallah, South Cotabato; and were sheltered at the rest house of Dr. Josephine Armada, spouse of Atty. Ramie Armada, Barangay Sinolon, T’boli, Surallah (South of Allah), South Cotabato.
NGO worker Efren Castañarez termed the reunion as ‘recollect-nic’ to reminisce the seed formation “so grateful with the memories we made together, and how it matters to respective families of SFYians’86,” after 37 years with the guidance of former SFY Formator Fr. Jaime Oxales.
“Our reunion is reminiscing the seed that grew to where we are now,” as stated in the homily of Father Romeo Subaldo, healing priest and a diocesan clergy of Marbel.
Three Sacraments were celebrated at the Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Surallah, South Cotabato, which completed our journey since we started our trip from the Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Bangkal, Davao City.
“It is, indeed, nice to recollect the success of our failures,” uttered by co-celebrant Father Sander Niez, which message was confirmed by Vice Mayor Cesar Dasilao as he said, “let us cherish the moment and opportunities, the manifestation of His love in our group SFYians’86.”
“This reunion is faith binding to all SFYians’86,” commented by Sir Luisito Bilbao; “it’s a long journey, but we all worth it,” uttered by Sir Danilo Abanil. (Vonz M. Hijada, MAT | OLLP SoCCom)
