OLLP Youth Retreat

About 70 youth of the Our Lady of Lourdes Parish (OLLP) in Bangkal successfully spent their Holy Week with the Lord during their 2nd OLLP Youth Camp last 6-9 April 2023, held at the school ground of the Jesus and Mary Thevenet School adjacent to the parish church in Bangkal.

OLLP Parish Priest Fr. Henry Campeon inspired the youth to camp on neighboring school to let the youth experience the contemplative mode of Jesus’ Paschal mystery, in coordination with the Jesus and Mary Thevenet School.

The camp was facilitated by Fr. Fernando “Anggong” Ingente, SM, with the theme: “Turning suffering and pain into power in the light of the Paschal mystery of Jesus Christ,” assisted by Ana Norbe and Araceli Cabudlan, with support of some selected parish catechists or PSP, with the cooperation of the youth working committee led by Janzeen Jumo.

“Our recent youth camp inspired me much,” said Janzeen. “I learned that, like how Jesus suffered, our pains in life could also be one of the greatest powers we can hold as human beings,” he acclaimed.

Through the youth camp, many youths of the Our Lady of Lourdes Parish are inspired and actively participating in the parish and in their respective Gagmayng Kristohanong Katilingban. (Vonz M. Hijada, MAT, OLLP SoCCom)
