Assured of God’s Love

Annunciation of the Lord – With great love and joy, the Dominican Sisters warmly welcomed a new member on Saturday, March 25, 2023. Sr. Flora Mae O. Habana made her perpetual profession as a religious sister. During the profession, five sisters namely, Srs. Luzviminda B. Arroyo, Rowena I. Castillo, Maria Cireflor B. Ducao, and Arlene E. Urquiza, also celebrated their silver jubilee of religious profession at San Antonio Parish Agdao, Davao City.

The main presider was Most Rev. Romulo G. Valles, DD, together with the Bishop of Mati, Most Rev. Abel C. Apigo, DD and some diocesan and religious priests. In his homily, the archbishop shared that during those 25 years perhaps the sisters are reminded that every time they come to mass, they will see in their own fresh eyes that they are assured of God’s love. “In your vocation, believing that you are loved by the Lord and chosen by the world to proclaim that love today”, archbishop said. That day was also a reminder of the single event of the annunciation of the Lord. The single annunciation is wonderful enough that we know that the Lord is striving to be conceived, to be in the hearts of the people today.

Before the Mass ended, Sr. Flora Mae O. Habana gave her thanksgiving message to the people who were present during that time. She thanked everyone especially Most Rev. Romulo G. Valles and his concelebrant Bishop of Mati, Most Rev. Abel C. Apigo, and all the priests. Above all, she also thanked God for everything, for which everything is a grace, including her vocation and perseverance. After the mass celebration, lunch was served at San Antonio’s Holy Family gym. (Bro. Ranie Boy Pamplona | Photos: The Roman Catholic Diocese of Mati-Social Communications Ministry)
