“I Am A Steward Joyfully Living, Joyfully Sharing”
St. Joseph Parish, Sasa, Davao City – January 29, 2023, St. Joseph Parish celebrated the 2nd Anniversary of Spirituality of Stewardship (SOS) with the theme, “I am a Steward Joyfully Living Joyfully Sharing”.
The SOS Holy Mass at 7:30am was presided by Bishop George B. Rimando, Auxiliary Bishop of Davao together with Fr. Leonardo Dublan Jr.. Bishop Rimando, in his homily cited the beatitudes; to have joyful living and joyful sharing as humble stewards of God.
It was also an Altar Call Sunday and parishioners offered their gifts wholeheartedly as a symbol of being merciful.
Before each mass some SOS practitioners shared experiences and feelings of fulfillment in their lives as happy stewards of God.
After the mass, flyers were distributed by SOS Practitioners to mass goers. A small Stewardship Tree was displayed with hanging messages of What Stewardship is. There were also mascots who entertained the people that made the celebration joyful.
The SOS Program started at 10:30 a.m. and the Fellowship Lunch at 12:00 p.m.. At 7:00pm, a mini concert called “JAM WITH JOY” was held.
For the first time a show has gone live through the St. Joseph Parish Facebook and was held on January 26, 2023 at 7:30 p.m.. An online Talk Show also happened which was hosted by Parish Youth Coordinator, Antony Vincent Ongao and Rheanne Peñaflor, entitled “Spirituality of Stewardship” with invited guest speakers Parish Priest, Fr. Leonardo Dublan, Jr., Ms. Lorie Aparre, Parish SOS Coordinator, Maribeth Galarce and Maristel Celeste who gave their statements and shared experiences as stewards joyfully living, joyfully sharing.
All the speakers agreed that difficulty and poverty are not obstacles to be a steward because joy in life and joy in sharing is the fulfillment of the desire to serve God.
The SOS campaign continues and encourages those who have not yet joined not only in St. Joseph Parish but up to the national level so that they too can experience a joyful life joyfully sharing of God’s gifts to our brothers and sisters who are most in need.
As of December 31, 2022 total SOS practitioners in St. Joseph Parish is 896. (Emy Gamorot)
