Continuing its Mission

New Carmen Archdiocesan Nutrition Center opened its doors in 2019. It is one of the beneficiaries of Halad Pasalamat, a stewardship program of St. Francis of Assisi Parish, Ma-a.

Today under the supervision of Sr. Marivic Pastor, the center feeds more than 300 children beneficiaries. Students ages 6 to 13 eat healthy meals at the New Carmen Elementary and High School from Monday to Thursday at the nearby chapel. Fifty out-of-school youth come to the Magtuod feeding center every Saturday.

Three volunteer teachers assist in reading and writing and teach the beneficiaries faith-based catechism. Eight mother volunteers guide about 30-40 children under their wings and cook food for them.

Last January 28, 2023, the Archdiocesan Social Communications Committee with the Parish SoCCom members visited the Magtuod Feeding Center where they distributed gift packs, food packs, and slippers to almost 300 children including their mothers and those who live nearby. It was part of the formation activity of the SoCCom from the parishes this year. (Pamela V. Millabe)
