SPC, San Pablo-CEU University to Strengthen Linkages

Student Exchange Programs and the Study Visiting Student Program, inked.

Last January 11, 2023, the Virtual Memorandum of Agreement between San Pedro College and San Pablo-CEU University was emphasized thoroughly by both representatives, Prof. Dr. Ainhoa Uribe Otalora, Vice-Rector for Internalization from Universidad CEU San Pablo, Spain, and Dr. Genaro F. Alderite, Jr., Dean, School of Business Management, Education, Arts and Sciences with Dr. Ana Julia P. Enero, Vice President for Academics, both from San Pedro College. The agreement was posed to be the holy grail of establishing a framework approach for the development of new projects, study, and research programs and was inaugurated by the San Pedro College Internalization and Linkages Office (SPC-InterLink).

“This is a linkage of the two excellent schools that incidentally uphold the qualities of values and human virtues as much as academic achievement for both institutions. The mind of the human being is just as important as the soul, and vice versa,” Hon. Natividad R. Fortich, a representative from the Consulate of Spain in the Philippines, conveyed in her message.

Including Hon. Fortich, Prof. Dr. Otalora, Dr. Alderite, and Dr. Enero, the collaboration of the two exceptional schools was attended by 12 esteemed people, such as Universidad CEU San Pablo’s Ms. Ana Ly Tamargo-Fernandez Rodriguez, International Relations Officer, Prof. Elizabeth Frank, International Academic Coordinator – School of Business and Economics, and Prof. Gloria Aznar Fernandez-Montesinos, International Academic Coordinator – School of Business and Economics; and San Pedro College’s Prof. Robelle Anne Maneja, Associate Dean of the Accountancy and Business Management Department, Dr. June L. Prieto, faculty from the Accountancy and Business Management Department, and Dr. Erwin M. Faller, Director of SPC-InterLink.

“One of the goals of any academic institution is to intensify its focal functions. The said educational interactions are directed towards the school’s goal to provide excellent and quality education to students with international standards.” Dr. Alderite, Dean of School of Business Management, Education, Arts and Sciences, asserted.

As a result, cooperation between the two parties has increased through student exchange and the Study Abroad Visiting Student Program allowing for the mutual promotion of study, education, and research programs of shared interest.

Prof. Dr. Otalora, Vice-Rector for Internationalization, further expressed, “At the university level, it is very important for working together and extending our paths acknowledged and group society. For us, internationalization is a way to improve our society and do the best for people.” She also added that their goal is to improve their skills and ability to connect the dots through research, teaching, and learning processes to establish a worldwide network.

In addition, San Pablo CEU University was established by statute in 1993 to attain higher education programs through research, teaching, and study. Christian humanism serves as the proper inspiration for this goal. As one of its guiding ideologies, San Pablo CEU University is dedicated to giving its students and teachers a well-rounded education, challenging them to use their critical thinking skills to the fullest extent possible, and preparing them to become excellent scientists and professionals who are committed to serving society.

On the other hand, The Dominican Sisters of the Trinity founded San Pedro College, a private Catholic educational institution with the mission of becoming a preeminent independent Dominican institution of higher learning with globally renowned programs and top-notch graduates.

On that account, to pave the way for a mutual agreement, the two institutions signed a Framework Collaboration Agreement, which among other things, allows for the possibility of special arrangements to be signed, in this case for the development of student exchange programs and the study abroad visiting student program to programs of study, education, and research of mutual interest.
