Now Is The Time To Arise!

National Youth Day is a nationwide celebration of all young people in the Philippines. It is a special day that the church has given to its youth and has become an occasion for a variety of activities and events that highlight the church’s preferential love for them. Thus, the Catholic Church in the Philippines observes National Youth Day (NYD) as a special day for her great treasure, the youth.

On the 30th of December, youth from different GKKs under St. James Parish, Bunawan joined and celebrated the National Youth Day 2022 with the theme: “Mary arose and went with haste.” This theme will be the center of our reflection from 2022 until this year. The celebration aims to share the goodness of God and kindness with everyone. Like Mary, let us “arise and go in haste”. Let us carry Jesus within our hearts, and bring him to all those we meet! Indeed, the great message entrusted to the Church is Jesus! Yes, Jesus himself, in his infinite love for each of us, his salvation, and the new life he has bestowed upon us. Mary is our model; she shows us how to welcome this immense gift into our lives, to share it with others, and thus bring Christ, his compassionate love, and his generous service to our deeply wounded humanity. Now is the time to arise!

The celebration of National Youth Day 2022 would not be possible and successful without the genuine support and help of many important people, especially our Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Rolando O. Mandreza, for giving us his unwavering affirmation and support in making our vision a reality.
