OLLP invades the gallery of saints year 3 on its 6th day
The Gallery of Saints launched its Year 3 with the theme, “Listening and walking with the saints,” held at the SM Annex, Ecoland, Davao City, from October 23 to 30, 2022.
Hundreds of Catholic faithful visited the gallery on its 6th day with San Pablo Vicariate as in-charge of the day’s activities, started with the Holy Rosary at 10:00am led by the sisters of the Presentation of Mary, followed by the intercessory prayer and song offering to their foundress, Saint Marie Rivier, who had just been canonized by Pope Francis on May 15, 2022.
Parishioners from Saint Jude Thaddeus Parish also offered an intercessory prayer and songs to Saint Jude Thaddeus as it was his feast day.
The Holy Eucharist was sponsored by the Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, presided by its Parish Priest, Fr. Henry R. Campeon, concelebrated by Rev. Fr. Ritsche Gamaya, Managing Director of the Davao Verbum Dei Media Foundation, Inc. (DVDFI).
More or less 80 percent of the attendees were parishioners from the Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Bangkal; while scores of mall workers and shoppers also participated in the celebration of the Holy Eucharist.
Sr. Cherry of the Presentation of Mary, who was fortunate enough to witness the canonization of their foundress Saint Marie Rivier at the Vatican, said that she was really inspired by the life of their foundress “because all her life, she lived with great faith in the Lord,” she joyfully said.
“During her younger days until her death, she always relied on the Divine Providence; and she is always a woman of prayer, a woman of faith, and she prayed through the intercession of our Blessed Mother,” Sr. Cherry continued.
Fr. Henry Campeon said in his homily that these saints are not perfect, “they are also sinners but God chose these lowly people to become saints because these men and women were effective in their proclamation as they always put their faith and open their hearts to the grace of the Lord.”
“If we want to continue proclaiming the good news of the Lord, we should open our hearts,” Fr. Henry exclaimed.
Fr. Ritsche Gamaya extended his gratitude to all who sponsored and participated since the first day of the Gallery of Saints Year 3, especially the Servant Leaders of the participating parishes. (Article and Photos by Rowena B. Villaflor, OLLP SoCCom)
