Doing Everything Out of Love
The recently concluded Year 3 of the Gallery of Saints from October 23-30 organized by the Commission on Social Communications through DXGN 89.9 Spirit FM and Davao Catholic Herald, was one way to remind everyone of the call to holiness.
During the 8-day gallery, almost all of the speakers have pointed one thing; that to love and to recognize that we are so much loved by God is the only way to holiness. It is said that a human being grows out of love, not of fear nor of ridicule. Realizing that we are loved despite our sinfulness, that the grace of God works in us through the Holy Spirit therefore will transform us like Christ.
With the theme, “Listening and Walking with the Saints,” Fr. Kim Lachica in his talk said that it is not merely walking with them that we become holy but walking like them. In our little ways, in our persistence we emulate their doings, we try to live as they did. Also quoting the director of the Diocese of Mati’s Commission on Social communications, Fr. Alfe Alimbon as he firmly said, “holiness is not just done overnight, instead it is done every day.”
It is true that it is difficult however, never impossible. The Commission on Social Communications tries its best to remind the faithful to allow the saints to inspire them how to be holy, not by doing great things, but doing ordinary things with great love.
This event would not be possible without the people who were so ready and open to extend their support. With this, Archdiocesan Commission on Social Communications of the Archdiocese of Davao would like to thank the following: SM CITY DAVAO, PHILAM LIFE/PDE AGENCY, OUR LADY OF MANAOAG PRAYER COMMUNITY-DAVAO, NETAPHILS, INC., MRS.
