Children’s Ministry reopens at St. Jude

The pandemic changed the dynamics of the world, and copious things were altered. One of the most affected sectors by this change is the vulnerable sector—the elderly and especially the children. These sectors were impeded from participating in the numerous activities outside the comfort of their homes due to the health and safety protocols, knowing that these people were susceptible to acquire the SARS-CoV-2.

With the restrictions now being lifted, the St. Jude Shrine Parish inaugurated the sending forth of 19 children for the Confraternity of the Our Lady of Lourdes Children’s Ministry (COLLCM) as gift bearers and lectors, spearheaded by their coordinator, Juliana Luz Legarte, along with the aid of the Parish Liturgy Head Council, Maria Elena Cunanan. The establishment of the said ministry focuses on instilling a formidable foundation of faith to the children in the Lord through service. The children of COLLCM who were sent forth on the 21st took their first serve on October 23, 2022.

As the setting of the world is now slowly going back to normal, the world opens its doors to the susceptible sector to participate in the numerous activities it offers, especially in the church. Children are given the chance to serve the Lord together with the guidance of Mother Mary as Our Lady of Lourdes, bringing the children closer to God through their service to the community and the church.
