OLLP Our Lady of Lourdes Parish rest recreation retreat Mati

Short but Sweet Retreat

Travelling is not only good for mental health but also reduces stress and refreshes the mood. It is the period of time when we relax and enjoy ourselves, away from home, while strengthening our relationship in the service.

The Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Pastoral Council (PPC) left for Mati City for a 2-day R&R last August 22 and 23, 2022 together with OLLP Parish Priest Fr. Henry Campeon, Fr. Arnulfo “Pong” Cubero and Resident Priest Fr. Fernando “Anggong” Ingente, SM.

The Council paid a courtesy visit to the Bishop of the Diocese of Mati, Most Rev. Abel C. Apigo, D.D. since he was out of town, we were welcomed instead by Fr. Roland Sayman, DCM.

The next stop was lunch at the rest house of Architect Manny/Nenette Rosales, situated in Residencia de Monte Carlo Menzi, Don Martin Marundan, Mati City, where the PPC was treated with varied Filipino and foreign dishes, accompanied by various fresh fruits and drinks.

The PPC proceeded to the future “Surfing and Diving Escapade” in Kadanlaan, Dahican Mati City, owned by Marice and Jhekai the daughters of Bro. Dodoy/ Virgie Magdolot, where the Council stayed overnight.

“A short retreat, as Fr. Henry Campeon puts it, has made me realize, personally, a liberating experience indeed from the 2-year of uncertainty fighting an unseen foe hoping against hope to win against it one day,” said PPC Lay Coordinator Bro. Nestor Fruto.

“I was seeking a good jumpstart to re-inspire my sagging spirit and this retreat with the company of familiar servant leaders and more of this kind perhaps will bring out in me the motivation to continue serving,” Fruto continued.

“Kanunay nga nakita sa Ginoo ang nagpabilin nga kainit sa pagpangalagad kay inspite of your busy schedules, your family, work, businesses, still migahin ug time para sa serbisyo sa simbahan; ang miyembro sa Parish Pastoral Council mga “KUWANGGOL” kuwang sa kagool, kanunay nga malipayon,” Fr. Campeon emphasized in his homily. (Vinny Bajo, OLLP Parish SoCCom)
