Month-long Celebration of Vocations
The Archdiocesan Commission on Vocation invites you to a month filled with activities in celebration of the Vocation Month.
This year’s theme: “FAMILY: seedbed of vocation” centers on the importance of the family as the basic unit of society. It brings everyone back to the belief that charity begins at home where faith in God is also nurtured. Having recently celebrated the world meeting of families, it has inspired and stirred the need to promote families where men and women who value all sorts of vocation are born and formed.
Here’s a list for this month-long promotion.
September 1 – Launching at the San Pedro Cathedral Parish
2:30-3:00p.m. – ARRIVAL
3:00-4:00p.m. – Holy Hour for Vocation
4:00-5:00p.m. – Video presentations from different congregations
5:00-6:30p.m. – HOLY MASS
This launching highlights the first ever sending forth of the different vocation promoters per parish. Expected to attend are: families of seminarians and Davao theologians, members of the Family Life Apostolate, representatives of invited schools (e.g. San Pedro College, Holy Cross of Davao College Inc., St. Francis Xavier College Seminary and the Regional Major Seminary) and youth from different parishes.
You may expect holy hours every now and then due to the fact that vocation itself is a continuous and everlasting prayer within the discernment of God’s will. Therefore, it wants to anchor the activities in the centrality of Jesus, going back to the source, to the one who called.
