Family: Seedbed of Vocation

Inspired by the Tenth World Meeting of Families in Rome last June 22-26, 2022 with the theme ‘Family Love – a Vocation and a Path to Holiness’, the Commission on Vocation in the Archdiocese of Davao decided to highlight the value of the family. Thus the theme for this vocation month is Family: Seedbed of Vocation.

According to St. John Paul II in his Apostolic Exhortation on the role of the Christian family in the modern world, ´the family that is open to transcendent values… becomes the primary and most excellent seedbed of vocations to a life of consecration to the kingdom of God.” (Familiaris Consortio, 53).

Therefore, as we celebrate the vocation month in the Archdiocese of Davao, let us pray for the family, appreciate the gift of family and celebrate the Holy Mass with our family. Let us always remember that the family is the seedbed of vocation. So, for more vocation? Let us start with family cultivation.
