Ecoteneo’s Pakighinabi on Davao Oriental’s Watersheds
The Ateneo de Davao University in coordination with the Office of the University President, Fr. Joel E. Tabora, SJ and the Diocese of Mati will be holding a forum on Davao Oriental’s watershed and protected areas vis-à-vis mining projects on September 27, Tuesday from 8:00am to 12:00 noon at the Community Center of the First Companions (CCFC/Blue Building).
The Ecoteneo Office is organizing this dialogue along with APILA and UCEAC (University Community Engagement and Advocacy Council). This forum will talk mainly about protecting watersheds, securing food and sustaining ecotourism in Davao Oriental. Community representatives/leaders from Banaybanay and Barangay Macambol will present their issues while leaders from agencies concerned like DENR, Pagro, the local government and other partners are invited to respond.
Media partners do also have their time in asking questions for clarification and publication purposes. Indeed this timely activity of the Ateneo de Davao shouts stewardship at its finest.
