GKK SoCCom First Face to Face Meeting
The St. Mary of the Perpetual Rosary Parish GKK Social Communications Committee (SoCCom) Ministry held their first face to face meeting last July 31, 2022 at the Parish Seminar Hall. It has been two years since the SoCCom ministry had their formal meeting because of the pandemic that occurred since 2019.
Ms. Hermelita Mapute, Parish SoCCom Coordinator presided the meeting where she expressed her gratitude to those who attended and pointed out the importance of the Social Communications Committee to the parish and in their respective GKKs.
The agenda tackled the plans for the upcoming four basic seminars, recollection: spirituality and commitment, stewardship seminar and other inputs like tips on how to write minutes of the meeting, newswriting, photojournalism and other related topics to enhance the skills of the SoCCom. This is in preparation for the renewal and acceptance of the newly appointed SoCCom members. Different committees also will be created like ways and means, worship, formation and service. The Parish SoCCom Coordinator also promoted the Davao Catholic Herald Newspaper to the ministry by encouraging them to write an article and subscribe a copy for their respective GKKs. The proposal to change the SoCCom uniform was also discussed.
Rev. Fr. Dionisio Tabiliran, SMPRP’s Parish Priest also gave his message to the SoCCom and thanked everyone for their dedication and their efforts amidst the challenges of the pandemic. After that, he then led the closing prayer and gave the final blessing, followed by singing of the closing song, “Give Thanks”.
The Social Communications Committee had their official group photo session with parish priest, Fr. Diony. SoCCom from Zones 1 to 10 attended the said gathering with a total attendance of 49. The ministry also managed to recruit some of the GKK SoCCom Youth who will represent the Parish/GKK Media Team.
SoCCom ministry will have their next meeting on the 5th Sunday of the month of October. (Allyza Hope Tabigue, GKK SoCCom)
