A Strong Spirit
Our fourth jubilarian is Rev. Fr. Nestor Dalumpines who was born in Pigkawayan, North Cotabato. Although he is at the Sto. Domingo Retirement Home and needs dialysis thrice a week, feels a little groggy and forgetful at times, his spirit is stronger than before.
According to him, he offered his whole life in the ministry, and even during the time when his legs were amputated and many people pitied him he’s never lost faith in God’s love and mercy. In his reflection, “For how many years in my ministry, God did not abandon me”, Fr. Nestor believes that because the Lord did not let him down while he was still healthy, all the more that he will not be abandoned now that he needs Him most. “God will take care of me”, he said.
Father Nestor is grateful for the gifts he has received and will continue to meditate with the Lord every day of his life. According to him, “if we don’t have a perfect and strong relationship with God, we will become miserable. It is necessary to have an intimate and perfect relationship with the Lord.”
A strong and positive comment that Fr. Nestor left as a closing message that if the Lord permits, he still wants to plant squash in the mountain and be with nature.
