SFDA LCCP Sheds Light About Their Role As A Ministry

Tagakpan, Tugbok, Davao City—The Lectors, Commentator, Psalmist, and Choir (LCCP) members of the San Francisco de Asis (SFDA) Parish held a formation seminar for its old and new members last July 10, 2022.

Despite the pandemic, the LCCP coordinators of SFDA managed to continue their spiritual formation and growth by conducting a 3-day seminar for its members which highlighted their respective roles and responsibilities as members of the community. Furthermore, the seminar presented important information about the Bible, encouraging members to live by what they preach.

The head coordinator of LCCP, Edwina Vismanos, mentioned “We wanted to enlighten both new and old members of LCCP about the importance of their roles as proclaimers of the word of God. We conducted seminars and liturgical workshops to hone their skills and strengthen their passion for serving”. Ma’am Vismanos hoped these activities would help the members become responsible and committed servants of the Lord.

As a new member of the LCCP community, Kim was elated that she finally became a part of the community. “I am happy because I am one step closer to becoming an official LCCP member. Having this seminar helped me learn about the technicalities required when reading the Bible,” she added, “Not only that, it made me realize that being in this ministry comes with big responsibilities. That’s why I will apply everything I learned from this seminar to fulfill my duties as a member of the LCCP.”

“Learning to understand the Bible is important for us as LCCP members because we are the people’s role models. The seminar also reminds us to live what we preach. We shouldn’t just read; rather, it is essential to build a connection between the Bible and our daily lives,” stated by Nes Semacio, an old LCCP member who’s been serving the parish for 6 years. “As LCCP members, we should keep our passion alive when serving the Lord,” she added.

A sending forth celebration will happen this coming August to welcome the 86 new members. The renewal of pledge for the 34 old members of the LCCP will also happen on the same day. Due to the growing number of the ministry’s members, the parish priest and the LCCP coordinators are excited about the upcoming events and activities this year. (SFDA SoCCom)
