Know Your Shepherd: Praying for a Heart that Loves

We welcome our new shepherd, John L. Cardinal, SDB and nope he is not a cardinal but a priest and we address him as Reverend Father. Having celebrated his 64th birthday last June 26, Fr. John received his long time wish of being a parish priest. The Lord has blessed him with this assignment to lead the flock of the Mary Help of Christians in Dacudao, Calinan. Though Fr. John is not new in Davao, being the previous executive director of the Davao Boys Town, he is very much excited to shepherd the parishioners and to share the gifts he has received and insights he has learned throughout his 34 years in ministry. Let us note that, Jan. 31 is his 35th sacerdotal anniversary.

You might also notice that he has a unique accent when speaking in English that is because he, my friends is an English teacher, which excites us more because he has the tools and while he wants to focus formation for the youth, we can expect that more activities in the parish will happen very soon.

When asked which gift he wants to impart to the flock, he simply said he is praying to have a loving heart for all.
