53rd Parochial Fiesta of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish

The Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish, Obrero celebrated its 53rd Parochial Fiesta last June 24, 2022 Friday with the theme: “Hamiling kasingkasing ni Hesus tinubdan sa pagkapiniyalan.” The Pontifical Mass presided by Most Rev. Romulo G. Valles, D.D. began at 12noon and was concelebrated by priests: Fr. Emmanuel “Bong” Gonzaga, Fr. Randy Baluso, Fr. Jasper Alfeche, Fr. Orlando Angelia, Fr. Pedro Maniwang, Fr. Amado Arroyo, Fr. Christopher Alcayade, Fr. Rusell Bantiles, Fr. Hermie Garcia, Fr. Randy Diamante, SDV and Msgr. Edgar Labagala.

Though the archbishop had a very tight schedule as he came directly from St. John the Baptist Parish in Lasang he was still hopeful and full of vigor when he delivered his homily.

The archbishop invited everyone present to come to the heavenly banquet, which the Lord himself prepared, forgetting for a while the concerns of the world.

“Grant we pray Almighty God that we who glory in the heart of Your beloved Son and recall the wonders of His love for us may we be worthy to receive the overflowing measure of grace from that fount of heavenly gifts.” The church is reminding us that when we think of the Sacred Heart of Jesus it is simply the LOVE of God.

Pope Francis said that this love is simply translated into mercy and compassion. This probably is the challenge given to us all, that because we have been loved deeply, compassionately, fully, we too must give that love to others.

During the message of the parish priest, Fr. Bong Gonzaga he thanked everyone who gave their utmost support from the preparations to the fulfillment of the fiesta celebration. He was ever grateful most especially to the GSLs and the members of the Parish Pastoral Council and other committees.
