This Davaoeña
In a viral Facebook post, was this photo of Vice President Sara Duterte-Carpio with the Archbishop of Davao, Most Rev. Romulo G. Valles, D.D. and other priests who were concelebrants of the thanksgiving mass before VP Sara’s inauguration on Sunday, June 19, 2022 at the San Pedro Cathedral Parish.
It went viral for the reason that their faces were painted with nothing but joy and well wishes, it is so different from the tension that the media wanted to portray during the past election. Though they may have had different bets, this time it was just one, this Davaoeña who made it.
This Davaoeña who wanted to have a proper thanksgiving to the Lord and to the people of Davao for the support they have given, this Davaoeña who requested the Archbishop to preside the thanksgiving mass, this Davaoeña who plans to come home as frequent as she can to be with her husband and family. This Davaoeña who is now the Vice President of the Philippines.
We Davaoeños in turn have nothing but pride and gratitude for her, how she promised and dedicated her life of service for the people, for us. These positive emotions are translated onto this photo above.
This is only one of the many photos which went viral during the inauguration. It was evident how people especially Davaoeños appreciate her because of her values of faith, family and service.
