50th Jubilee of the Caritas Davao Foundation

On June 13, 2022 the CARITAS DAVAO FOUNDATION INC. will celebrate its 50th Foundation Day. Established by the late Archbishop ANTONIO LLOREN MABUTAS, guided by his coat of arms motto Sentire Cum Ecclesia (To think and to feel with the Church), Caritas was founded in response to the fire disaster which happened in Trading Boulevard in this city 50 years ago.

The celebration will be held at the premises of the Teresian Daughters of Mary (TDM), which has been in-charge as the Archdiocesan Caritas Coordinator. The current chairman Most Reverend Romulo G. Valles, D.D. inspires all the officers, volunteers and Caritas Parish Coordinators with the following messages:

It is with much joy that I greet the benefactors, friends, volunteer workers, staff, coordinator and director of Caritas Davao Foundation on your Golden Jubilee as we Filipinos also celebrate and commemorate the 500 years of Christianity (YOC) in the Philippines!

Your theme 50 0f 500 years of Christianity: Recognizing, Accepting, Celebrating God’s Gift of Mission and Volunteerism is indeed an inspiring theme and concrete example of your giftedness as you express not only your appreciation and gratitude to God for the bountiful blessings He has bestowed on Caritas Davao for 50 years, but also your commitment and willingness to share in the mission of Christ in the framework of the Great Jubilee of our commemoration of the 500 YOC in our country, with the theme Gifted to Give.

Since its foundation, Caritas Davao has been doing it mission by giving medical and spiritual assistance to the poorest of the poor in the Archdiocese of Davao and in the neighboring dioceses. On this your Golden Jubilee, as we celebrate as a Synodal Church and as we commemorate the 500 YOC in the Philippines, I pray that with the grace of God, Caritas Davao will continue to be of assistance to our needy brothers and sisters so that they may in turn share the gift of faith and charity with others, especially with their respective families and communities.
