GKK St. Joseph the Worker, Matina Balusong Commemorates 42nd Feast Day

Sr. San Jose Nga Mamumuo Modelo sa Pagkapiniyalang Katilingban nga Masalhuton Alang sa Katumanan sa Misyon” is this year’s theme for the 42nd Feast Celebration of GKK St. Joseph the Worker at Matina Balusong, Davao City last April 30, Saturday.

Parish Priest of Ascension of the Lord Parish, Fr. Zenon Ampong, presided the 7PM Holy Mass. Fr. Zenon began by telling the people to dedicate themselves, their efforts with virtues, and prepare for the Holy Eucharist.

Fr. Ampong added, “Maghinulsol ta sa mga sala, mangayo ta ug pasaylo ug kaluoy sa Ginoo.” (Fr. Ampong added, “Let us repent our sins and let us ask the Lord for forgiveness and mercy.”)

Moreover, the first reading was taken from the Acts of the Apostles and the Responsorial Psalm was “Daygon ko Ikaw, O Ginoo, kay imo akong giluwas.” (“I will praise you, O Lord, for you have saved me.”) It was then followed by the second reading the Book of Revelation.

Zenon Ampong said in his homily.

(“This celebration of the Feast of St. Joseph reminds us that in all we do, we will not forget our mission, it is part of the mission sometimes to celebrate the feast of St. Joseph for as workers, we give this value which is always connected to work,” Fr. Zenon Ampong said in his homily.)

Fr. Ampong also emphasized that we should not forget the dignity of work, regardless of what we do, as long as it is right, that’s dignity.

St. Joseph who is a worker, and the Patron of Workers, inspires us and challenges us to never stop trying. (Charlotte C. Delos Santos | AdDU Intern)
