Holy doors close as 500 YOC celebration concludes

On March 17, Thursday the Archbishop of Davao through Most Rev. Romulo G. Valles, D.D. released circular no. 23, which states that, April 24, Sunday is designated as the concluding day of our 500 years of Christianity celebration. The Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) also planned to end this celebration with the Second National Mission Congress.

On that day, it is expected that parishes choose a specific time schedule that would be most convenient for people to attend and that the parishes should announce in advance so that many would be informed and be able to participate in the conclusion of our Jubilee celebration. This should also include the BEC and religious community chapels which have Sunday Masses.

The 7 parishes which have the Holy or Jubilee Doors will have their own individual schedule with regard to this closing day of the Jubilee which would include the closing of the doors. Please be informed of the following:

April 17 (Easter Sunday)
– Immaculate Conception Parish, Peñaplata (8:00AM Mass)
– St. James Parish, Bunawan (4:30PM Mass)

April 20 (Octave Wednesday)
– The Most Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish Calinan (5:00PM Mass)

April 21 (Octave Thursday)
– St. Jude Parish, Malvar (5:30PM Mass)

April 23 (Octave Saturday)
– Sta. Ana Shrine Parish (12:00NN Mass)
– Sto. Rosario Parish, Toril (5:00PM Mass)

April 24 (2nd Sunday of Easter)
– San Pedro Cathedral Parish (5:30PM Mass)

500 years is a long time thus everyone is encouraged to participate and celebrate this meaningful milestone for we can only experience this once in our lifetime. (Christine Mae Camus)
