Davao Cursillo Movement Celebrates Virtually its 56th Monday Holy Rosary Anniversary
The Cursillo Movement celebrates Monday Holy Rosary Anniversary yearly. This activity was started by a group of Men and Women Cursillista since January 9, Monday, 1967 at St Jude Parish Church. The purpose of said rosary prayer to Mother Mary was very personal it started, just to help pray the recovery of the brother cursillista’s father who was very ill at the time. But then, it became every Monday Rosary devotion to the same group, the intention is for family welfare, healing to sick brothers and sisters, for those in need, most of all for the peace of the country and the whole world.
Since then, Monday Rosary became one of the most important devotions of every Cursillista. It is done in Cursillo way with the arms in cross. This Rosary devotion of Cursillista evolved in time, which began on a Monday Rosary at St. Jude and it spread to other parishes: Tuesdays at Sacred Heart Parish in Obrero, Thursdays at San Antonio Parish in Agdao, and Wednesdays at Sta. Ana Parish.
Due to the pandemic, the Monday Rosary in St. Jude was halted temporarily for 2 years already however, it is still religiously observed virtually in Facebook Live every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday for the devotion to Mother Mary. In just a few months of virtual Rosary on Facebook Live, many had immediately noticed it and it quickly spread like virus to the Cursillista brothers and sisters here in Davao, other places, and even abroad then became a Daily Rosary Prayer Devotion.
Before 2021 ended, Holy Rasary devotion was also highlighted particularly in San Roque Parish Malabog where it was introduced to our brother and sister Cursillistas during the visit on the occasion of the celebration of the Family Day since they cannot join the Holy Rosary on the FB Page due to limited internet connection.
Today the Monday Rosary that started in St. Jude and celebrated this year for its 56th Anniversary now became a Daily Holy Rosary Devotion to Davao Cursillo Movement in Facebook Live and in a limited face-to-face Holy Rosary devotion to some GKKs in San Roque Parish Malabog.
