Called to be reconciled

Sin is the cause of any relationship that is broken. This sin may be disobedience, hatred, pride and the like. This is true in any relationship, be it among individuals, groups, nations or even between man and God.

Lent is a time when each of us is called to be reconciled with God and with one another. We are given the opportunity to repair our broken relationships by prayer, fasting and almsgiving. By observing these from the heart, we teach ourselves to be humble enough to accept our failures and be open to be available for the benefit of others. We hope that we may make good use of this season by building good relationship as we try to be truly reconciled to God through the sacrament of reconciliation.

Let this reconciliation today be realized among those nations, groups and individuals in conflict with one another, especially Ukraine and Russia. Let this peace and reconciliation be manifested in working for unity among us Filipinos preparing for the coming national and local elections.
