Archbishop of Davao: Take Part in the Annual Earth Hour Celebration
Most Rev. Romulo G. Valles on Wednesday, March 16, released a circular, which urges the faithful to take part in celebrating the earth hour on March 26, 2022, Saturday at 8:30 to 9:30 in the evening. The circular highlighted the switching off of non-essential lights, including streetlights, signages, key monuments, and nearby public areas during this global ‘lights out’ event.
He is hopeful that the government of Davao will also be keen on observing the 15-year practice during the earth hour. People are encouraged to post on social media, photos of themselves taking part of the said event and type in the hashtags #EarthHour2022 #ShapeOurFuture.
The switching off of non-essential lights is just one among the many projects that World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) and the United Nations has been doing in the plans to halt and reverse nature loss by 2030. (DCH)
