Vibrant & Committed LCCP were sent forth
The First Sunday of Advent was indeed a celebration of hope. There is hope that assures us that one day everything will make sense.
It was indeed a hopeful and blessed celebration of the First Sunday of Advent last November 28, 2021 since there were 33 Lectors, Commentators, Cantors and Psalmists (LCCP) who were sent forth during the second mass which was presided by our parish priest, Rev. Fr. Rolando O. Mandreza, DCD. These LCCP Members renewed their commitment to serve God in St. James the Apostle Parish, Bunawan, Davao City.
Rev. Fr. Rolando O. Mandreza, DCD gave three points in his homily. First, he emphasized that today was actually the beginning of the new liturgical year. Second, we are all encouraged to be prepared in the coming of our savior in this season of Advent. We should all be “watchful” and “alert” so that we can be ready when Jesus comes. Lastly, we are also encouraged to repent for all our trespasses and receive God’s forgiveness. All the parishioners who attended that mass were delighted and enlightened of the very essence of celebrating the Advent Season. That it is not about receiving gifts, but to be a gift to others with a joyful and humble heart.
In addition, right after the homily, the sending forth was done and headed by our parish priest. The LCCP members have understood and renewed their commitment as one of the liturgical ministers during Holy Mass. They knew their duties and responsibilities which mainly to be partakers of the mission of the Church which is to share the gospel. Hence, it was a blessed celebration of the First Sunday of Advent.
