MWOP Theme: A Clarification

We celebrated this Year’s (2021) Mindanao Week of Peace with the theme, Interfaith Peace Unity Inspiring Health Protocols. This came from the three, Catholic, Muslim and Protestant, co- convenors who considered it “practical”.

By considering it “practical” they gave in their Joint Statement One important reason. Thrust towards unity is inherent in the practice of cultural and religious traditions which necessarily promotes unity and peace.

Interfaith means, “among believers or people who have faith”. Peace refers to a relationship which is characterized by mutual respect, harmony, unity, support and collaboration. These are aspects of relationship of peace loving individuals and communities. These are concepts and words that can inspire officials and members of the IATF of our LGUs when they articulate in English and vernacular languages the Health Protocols.
