To God the Best of Everything We have

God does not need us because He is self-sufficient. Because He is the source of everything that exists.

But He has a claim on our awareness, recognition and respect, of our gratitude, humility, and trust.

More importantly, over and above everything supreme or the best we can ever have, God does have a claim.

Fast forward: The poor widow in last Sunday’s gospel recognizes this. And she gave Everything she had.

We should apply this in our decision regarding choices of vocation, profession, support of projects whether religious or secular, quantity or quality, even in our choice of dress or attire at religious services as different from sports and beach parties and contests. Sadly, there are priests now running as candidates for mayor and congressman.

It is all a matter of personal values. And there is a hierarchy of even of religious values.
