Red Wednesday

As we participate in the celebration of Red Wednesday on November 24, we hope that first, our commitment to the sufferings brought about by the challenge of our faith become stronger. When our sincerity of service is called for as members of the Church and as citizens of the country is challenged, we hope to witness it according to the call of our Christian values. When we are asked to be selfless and truthful for the sake of living the teachings of the Church, we hope to find gentle ways in refusing the temptations of the easy way.

Secondly, out material offering during that day will bring us far as a Church in the witness of the faith. Our financial help, no matter how small but offered from the heart, will help a lot to defray the expenses of our brothers and sisters who offer their life in the mission of spreading the Good News, especially to places where Jesus is not yet known and accepted. If we cannot go to these places, our little offering can do it for us.

And lastly, may our external expression of wearing red or any other way of doing it on that day, make us not only remember but be inspired also by the example of those who are persecuted for the sake of faith. We hope that our observance on that day have a lasting effect in our lives as we strive to become faithful followers of Christ.

May the cross of Christ make us strong in witnessing Him at all times.
