National Seafarers’ Sunday
During lockdown due to COVID-19, many of us were deprived of the celebration of the Eucharist. We were content with live streaming of the Holy Mass and spiritual communion. But throughout the year, even without COVID-19, our beloved seafarers, on account of their profession, do not enjoy the grace and comfort of the Holy Mass celebration. While at sea, many could not attend the Mass.
Today is seafarers’ Sunday. We have so many reasons to pray for them: good health in this trying and difficult time; love and unity with their families despite the physical distance; strength in faith and consistency of witness of the values of the Gospel wherever they are. We also pray for their families here so that they may always recognize the sacrifices of their loved ones who are working at sea.
Mary, star of the sea, pray for us.
