The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary
We have just celebrated yesterday, August 15, the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. When Pope Pius XII solemnly declared this dogma on November 1, 1950, he reminded us of the virtue of hope of heaven, our final home when we live in holiness.
In any case, the crisis of COVID-19 included, we have just to be configured unto Christ and live in His way. Our liturgy that day brought us to reflect on the need to be freed from our conceit in the midst of human progress, so as to realize that we are just little creatures in the face of the Almighty who does great things in our life. He is faithful to His promise to bring us to victory in His loving plan of redemption.
We pray that, like the Our Lady of the Assumption, we may reap our heavenly reward when our time will come!
