Sunday Masses with the public
The Pastoral Advisory #10 of our beloved Archbishop of Davao and CBCP President, Most Rev. Romulo G. Valles, D.D., brought about joy to many of our faithful. This Sunday, August 9, church goers can now be physically present and can take holy communion. This was after Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio announced last July 31 through Davao City Disaster radio that religious assemblies are now allowed on Sundays.
This is a manifestation of the close collaboration between the Church and the City of Davao in looking after the benefit of our fellow Dabawenyos. As the Church listens to the government, the city also respects the Church.
Along with Sunday Masses, GKK Masses and GKK Kasaulogan sa Pulong on Sundays, Masses in Funeral Homes and Baptism on Sundays are now also allowed. The beloved Archbishop reiterated, “Let us take seriously these necessary health protocols and related guidelines for the good of everybody and in the gospel spirit of authentic charity in these difficult times.”
